Joy in the Harvest

A Christian Mission in Africa

Our African headquarters is located a few miles from where Henry Stanley found Dr. David Livingstone and said, "Dr. Livingstone I presume."

All contributions to Joy in the Harvest are fully tax deductible.

Joy in the Harvest is also organized and approved by the government of Tanzania as an incorporated and registered religious organization.

Joy in the Harvest is a full member in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability since 1995. (click here to go to the ECFA website.  Use back arrow to return.)

Our stated purpose is "To provide expertise and resources needed by the church in Africa for making Christian disciples".

Joy in the Harvest has one full time missionary family (click here to the "About Our Missionaries" page). Our principle base of mission operations in Africa is located in Kigoma, Tanzania on the shore of Lake Tanganyika. Joy in the Harvest has more than 25 Africans on staff. Additional projects are located in the Johannesburg area of South Africa. Our U.S.A. mission operations office is also maintained in Illinois.

Joy in the Harvest is involved in several types of projects in Africa. We play a supporting role for the work of churches, pastors, and evangelists. Our assistance includes help church construction, training, and practical helps. We also interface and assist other missionaries and mission organizations. We are proud of our involvement across many denominational lines and we believe in the importance of Christian unity.

Joy in the Harvest believes in ministering to the total person. We run projects that help Africans receive training and education so that they might be able to find meaningful employment and support their families.

Our mission believes that as Christians we should render assistance to the poor, sick and needy. We help operate a destitute camp for crippled and handicapped Africans, we run a program of emergency assistance for the desperately needy and sick, and we render a variety of assistance to the refugees from the civil wars in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
